Fantasy Castle
I've recently been on a trip to Japan so it's been a little longer than I like since my last post. It was amazing and I've been totally inspired by the things I seen. I need to get a post together about my trip but for now here my first Japan inspired post.

Lunch Break Sketch 16 - Refined
I never even got a chance to post this sketch last
week. It's chanced so much from the original that it’s a bit pointless posting
the sketch. Anyway this makes up one of the Princesses I’ll be print testing.

The Angel with a Dirty Face.
The magazine I work for went off to print yesterday, which is a total relief. I've started a new comic in the children's section called The Angle with a dirty Face. I've been sketching this comic for a while so I've got loads of material which I'll be posting here, along with background info on the characters and sketches.

Sparkle Melt Exhibition
I was asked by a very good friend to contribute a piece to the Sparkle Melt exhibition last week. It took place in Barloco in Newcastle. I was pretty pleased to still be thought of even though I've moved down south. Unfortunately I couldn't make the event myself and after looking at the photos of the event it looks like I missed a belta.
It was an open brief, I could do anything I wanted as long as it incorporated the theme, Sparkle Melt.
here's my piece, I went for a bond girl inspired look.
Each print came wrapped up safe in a sleeve I made.

Drawing for fun
I've caught the wacom tablet bug. All I want to do is draw at the moment. After work It's great drawing purely for myself and with no customer at the end of it. Here's todays.

Cowboy
First post of the year, I'm been busy as hell.
I have a huge project going which I've been working for about three weeks. I'll post some stuff later. For now here's a quick illustration I've knocked up today. You might recognise him as the 'Space Dude' form last month, well it is but he's into the wild west now.
Actually I draw him for a Kids section of the magazine I work for and the subject changes each month.
Don't eat the pips.

On the Road
Drew this at work for the kid's section of the magazine, it was one of those where you make it up as you go. I sometimes enjoy this kind of illustrating more than the whole thinking up a concept and developing it malarkey. Don't eat the pips.

Bear Prince
I was a bit scared of my wacom tablet when I first got it, imagine
the first time man discovered fire, you think of all the great stuff you can do
with it, you imagine how it's going to change your life, but when you pick it
up you get burnt. Then you get angry, and stamp on it, and call it a stupid
piece of shit.
Anyway I've noticed, with drawing, most things take a lot of
practice, patience and experimenting and I bloody love my tablet know. I'm
busy colouring up some bears here’s on of them so far, they'll be more to
come.
"PUT A BIRD ON IT!"
I've assigned commands to my tablet buttons, mainly so I could sit back on the sofa and have my laptop on the table and not have to be hunched over using the keyboard. The buttons are oddly shaped and I would often hit the wrong one so I stuck form stickers so I could easily tell where they are. Plus every thing looks better with a load of stickers slapped on it. I may have also just watched to much Portlandia. Don't eat the pips.

BOY concept art, digital painting.
I've been practicing with my tablet, these concept pieces are for a short story I've wrote titled 'BOY'.
It's in the early stages of concept now but I'm in no rush as it's nice to be able to take my time with a project. I really wan't to develop character on this project as well as the setting, so I've been writing back stories for everyone in the story and even people who are connected to those characters. I'll post more of the development in the future. Don't eat the pips.
