Lunch Break Sketch 12

Not really a lunch sketch today as this is actually work and I'm too busy to take a real break. It's deadline weeks and all hell is breaking lose.  This doodle of 'The Angel with a Dirty Face' will be on the Kids Page this month.

Flamingo Seamless Pattern

This print is actually made from a seamless pattern and is not seamless.
I may be going to sell these as prints. I'll post an update soon.
Flamingos always remind me of Alice in Wonderland.

Frog Troop

So here is some concept work for the project I mentioned in the first post of the year.
I'm basically writing and drawing a graphic novel. I had a few concepts for a graphic novels last year and even drew some concept art, but there seemed to be something missing or not quite right when I was working on them.
So I decided to put the unfinished projects on hold and focus on one. I'm still in the early stages and I'm sure it will evolve along the way, but I'll post the progress as I go.

I'm Back

I've not posted in a while, because I've recently moved from Newcastle to Olney, which is a small town outside Miltonkyenes.
I've got myself a rabbit and a job working for a local magazine; which involves journalism, photography, graphic design, illustration and loads of fun stuff.
I'm also writing a local music and events page and starting up a blog but I'll be posting that stuff on here to.
Today we got this months edition of the Phonebox magazine delivered. Beneath the canvas sheet is 3 tons of 100% MAG, there was more before I took the photo, we had already sent a 1 ton off to stores.  I've illustrated the front cover this month.

I thought I'd give the pips a make over so I hope you like it. Don't eat the pips.

Wood Cut.

A wood cut I'm designing and planning to print tomorrow. I've kept it simple because I'm using it more of an experiment at the moment. I'll keep you posted with posts.

Punk my Church Exhibition

I entered these into the exhibition a Before Xmas last year. They now belong to Jim the 'Stripping Vicar' of the church. He's been giving that nick name due to his taking part in the Spenser Tunick exhibition at the Baltic.
The medium is crayon and Posca pen.

A day learning illustrator.

I wanted to brush up on my Illustrator skills, so I sat myself down and watched a couple of tutorials. I’ve been drawing girls in my sketch book lately so I decided to use one of the sketches. I’m quite pleased with the first bash and the pen tool is no longer my enemy. I’ve got loads of ideas from today’s work and some more girls to get pentooled up.

I’m actually planning on screen printing the girls so this on was more of an experiment. I’ll update with pictures soon.

Merry Christmas and Watermelon Pips.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at watermelon pips. Unfortunately I’m still waiting for one more parcel to arrive, which means at least 25 false alarms until I won’t move from the window in case I miss it.

Merry Christmas and Don’t eat the pips.

Welcome to the Jungle

Right so I've finally got the shop up and running. Click the button on the right to have a look. I have two more pieces to add. Then I'm free from uploading images! Again this original has a coat of paint on the skull mask of the lad on the right. The other masks are coloured with metallic paint.

All of the Nature heads character blurbs in the item description on the etsy shop. So make sure you get over there and have a read.

The Caramel Cat With the Golden Eyes.

The young bear Prince summons the power of the Caramel Cat With the Golden Eyes. This piece is inspired by a conversation I had at the globe gallery. The bear is actually one of the characters form the comic I'm working on.
