Lunch Break Sketch 17

I've went back to basics with todays lunch break sketch and broke out the pencil. I'm playing a lot of Final Fantasy at the moment as you may have guessed.

This was actually created at the same time as the dingo concept I posted earlier. In that piece my aim was to capture the form of Dingo. How he holds himself. In this I tried to capture a more serious expression or side to Dingo. Both are still first initial concepts so I'm sure certain will change and evolve.

First bit of concept art for the main character of the graphic novel I'm working on. 

I needed to get this down when I was writing one night. The writing itself is going well and I'm hoping to get some done tonight while I'm on the train from London to Newcastle.

Frog Troop

So here is some concept work for the project I mentioned in the first post of the year.
I'm basically writing and drawing a graphic novel. I had a few concepts for a graphic novels last year and even drew some concept art, but there seemed to be something missing or not quite right when I was working on them.
So I decided to put the unfinished projects on hold and focus on one. I'm still in the early stages and I'm sure it will evolve along the way, but I'll post the progress as I go.

Since I posted Pete from the Kids page in the magazine I work for, I thought I would post one of the editorials I've made. Pete is featured in a different place each month and in a different outfit. Cowboy

First post of the year, I'm been busy as hell.
I have a huge project going which I've been working for about three weeks. I'll post some stuff later. For now here's a quick illustration I've knocked up today. You might recognise him as the 'Space Dude' form last month, well it is but he's into the wild west now.
Actually I draw him for a Kids section of the magazine I work for and the subject changes each month.

Drew this at work for the kid's section of the magazine, it was one of those where you make it up as you go. I sometimes enjoy this kind of illustrating more than the whole thinking up a concept and developing it malarkey. Don't eat the pips.

I Made A Watermelon Keyring

Well here's a keyring to, I can't seem to stop making them. I've got some more ideas in the bag and I'll be selling these pretty soon. So make sure you check back in. Don't eat the pips.

I Made A Coffee Coaster

I was talking to a twitter friend after posting the watermelon tea coaster and she mentioned that she was a coffee drinker. So I designed an alternative for the coffee drinkers. I'm like the one on the right in the morning and the one on the left by the afternoon.  Don't eat the pips.

The Legend Of Zelda Lino Cut

These where my first attempts of lino printing. I carved them with hand tools and wanted to see how fine I could go with the detail. I’m actually half way through a three colour lino Zelda cut at the moment and it’s got me in the mood to finally finish my play through of Skyward sword. It’s been about half a year so I’ll have to that thing where you run around for half an hour trying to remember what you where doing when you last played. Don’t eat the pips.
