It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at watermelon pips. Unfortunately I’m still waiting for one more parcel to arrive, which means at least 25 false alarms until I won’t move from the window in case I miss it.

It took quite a few coats of paint for this series with them being on black card, I love the swirls of colour on the cactus.. Titles - Cactus Gas, Whale of a Time, Cause and Effect.

A tidy work space

I thought it was about time to rearrange my basement workspace. I've shoved a TV in the corner of my desk and have super smash bros at the ready. I've also cut a few holes in a fred Perry box and made it into a Posca pen holder so that I'm not scrambling around in a pencil case every few minutes. I'm going to Posca the box up when I have some spare time. Also a giant space hopper makes for the best desk chair in my opinion.

This piece took slightly longer than the last. I’ve been striving to archive precision and neatness with these last two and it’s beginning to become obsessive. It’s a shame it doesn’t spill out  into other aspects of my life. I’ve got my next two Posca and paint pieces planned out and hope to start one tonight.

Donkey Kong Watermelon Pips

After getting a ridiculous conversation with my friend on the phone about Donkey Kong smashing real plumbers to a pulp, I had to draw him. I was looking at gorillas for inspiration when I was working on this and noticed the size of their cranium!
